Jeffrey H. Shinkle, AIA
Principal
With over 17 years experience and as the founding Principal of BCS Design, Inc. in 1997, Jeff has expertise with the design and construction of a broad range of building types. With a strong passion for architectural design and construction he has completed several architect lead design-build projects for the firm as both the licensed architect of record and the licensed general contractor. Jeff is committed to establishing long-term relationships with clients and believes that successful design originates with listening to client needs and implementing those needs into the final product while staying sensitive to the budget. Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Architects, and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kansas and is currently licensed in five states. He is certified with the Kansas Disaster Assessment Program sponsered by the Kansas American Institute of Architects and Kansas Emergency Management.
Daren T. Carney, AIA
Principal
Since graduating from the great University of Kansas in 1993, Daren’s career has covered a plethora of traditional and non-traditional building types and services with a strong emphasis in corporate, educational and industrial architecture and an even stronger emphasis in providing customer service. As the Owner’s representative for several multi-million dollar projects, Daren has been responsible for interacting directly with ownership groups, other architectural firms, engineers, contractors, developers and other interested parties. He has experienced projects from the Client’s perspective and incorporated those experiences into all of his projects specifically with regard to the Client – Architect relationship as well as the Architect – Contractor relationship. It is Daren’s firm belief that Architects are a piece of an intricate puzzle that requires a strong partnership with a good client and a quality contractor to make a project come together. Without that willingness to work together as a team, the project will suffer to no one’s benefit. It is Daren’s drive to make all of his projects successful.
